Best Vitamins for Acne: Get Rid of Your Pimples and Zits Naturally

by Ingela

Using vitamins for acne may sound weird, but as I’ve kept browsing the web, I’ve bumped into more and more people that have used nutrition to get rid of their pimples and zits.

Now, this may not work for everyone, but experts say that almost everyone should supplement with a high-quality multivitamin, so it goes without saying that we need nutrients, and we need them bad.

Even if you’re eating an extremely healthy diet, you run the risk of being deficient in at least one nutrient, so before we talk about the specific vitamins for acne, let’s talk about multivitamins and the roles they play in our lives.

Should You Be Taking a Multivitamin for Your Acne?

You see, your body (and skin) requires a certain amount of nutrients to function optimally, and if you’re not taking any vitamins for acne, the only place you are getting nutrients from is your food.

And the soil provides the nutrients for your food. The only problem is that our soil is severely depleted because of all the pesticides, herbicides, and other chemicals that have been used on it for centuries now, which means fewer nutrients for us.

And if you’re eating non-organic, you’re ingesting a lot of toxins and unnatural substances that have not been proven to be completely harmless.

So what can you do about all this?

You can take the best multivitamin you can find, but I don’t just suggest that you run into the nearest health store, because many multivitamins also contain unnatural substances and chemicals used as fillers so the companies can make some extra cash.

Sad but true. I know!

If you’ve read my site, you’ve probably heard me mention a company from New Zealand called Xtend-Life. I personally use their Total Balance Unisex multivitamin, and I use their whole skin care product line, too.

But I recommend you do your research on this and ask around. I just wanted to give you the link above so you could check it out. My boyfriend has done a lot of research on vitamins for years, and this is what he uses, his family uses, and what I use.

Vitamins for Acne: Let’s Talk Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5)

Finding the right vitamins for acne is tough, but what I’ve discovered is that pantothenic acid (or vitamin B5) is what you should get more of.

So if you’ve got a multivitamin, you will have to buy more vitamin B5, but don’t worry; it’s extremely cheap.

Here’s how you do it: start by taking 10,000 milligrams of vitamin B5, and increase the dosage until you are completely free from zits and pimples. Once you see your acne clearing, you can slowly work yourself down to a maintenance dose.

This is completely safe, because vitamin B5 is water soluble, which means that your body will flush it out if it doesn’t need it, so you don’t have to worry about getting too much.

However, there are possible side-effects, such as stomach problems and diarrhea, so you will have to feel it out when it comes to using vitamins for acne, especially in high doses.

The only problem with vitamins for acne, especially pantothenic acid (or vitamin B5) is that it doesn’t work in every case, and sometimes the acne comes back if you stop taking high doses of the vitamin.

So while vitamins for acne might help, we have to treat the cause of the problem through our lifestyle, diet, and through nutrition.
