Uncover The Best Natural Remedy for Eczema

by Henri

If you or your child suffers from eczema, then you have probably been battling what feels like a lost cause.  It can seem like there is no end to the itching and the discomfort.

When it is a child that is suffering, it is much harder for a parent to handle than when it is your own pain.

Do not despair, there are some common natural remedies for eczema that can help alleviate the itching and keep the outbreaks from occurring as frequently.  You can choose one of the following to find your best natural remedy for eczema:

Diet

This is by far the most important and natural remedy for eczema as it is caused internally and not externally.  It is crucial that you learn which foods cause eczema. Eating right is also good for your overall health.

Make sure that you cut out all of the processed foods that you or your child may be eating.  While they can be convenient and less expensive to prepare, the fact is that these foods contain chemicals that can bring on outbreaks of eczema.

Also, dairy products, gluten and sugar can also be attributed to eczema outbreaks.  Try soy milk and other substitutes to find the foods that can offer relief.

You can try to eliminate one food type at a time to see which one has the most effect on your skin, or you can eliminate them all and if your skin clears, gradually re-introduce them and observe which food causes trouble.

Saltwater

Swimming in saltwater can be a great natural remedy for eczema.  There are many minerals along with the salt that can get your skin back into tiptop condition.

If you do not live in an area that is close to the ocean or sea, you can always purchase some sea salt and soak in a warm tub with sea salt.

You only need to use about a half a cup to a tub of water to get enough to do the trick.  While you are not getting the other minerals of the ocean, the salt water can help keep the eczema at bay and is also relaxing and can help relieve stress and that is another cause of eczema outbreaks.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil does not help to avoid an outbreak of eczema, but it sure does soothe the itching and help to alleviate the severity of it. You may even find that your symptoms go away completely.

You can find organic coconut oil at your local health food store and it can be used as frequently as you want without having to worry about side-effects. You can even eat it if you want to!

Stay Natural

The most important thing to remember is that diet is the best natural remedy for eczema and nothing replaces that fact.  If you or your child does not eat the proper foods, the condition can get worse.

There are many natural remedies for eczema out there, and also many creams that can work wonders, but ultimately you will have to experiment and find what works for you.
