If you have reached this site you must be deeply concerned about a serious medical condition.  Perhaps you or someone you care for has been diagnosed with genital warts.

You must be asking, “Are genital warts curable?”

When I researched this question I discovered that genital warts are not really curable.

You may think that genital warts can be cured, but the treatment only alleviates or eliminates the symptoms for genital warts.  You may be able to get rid of the warts but the HPV virus that causes the infection remains in your body.

What is HPV?

HPV or human papillomavirus is a strain of virus that causes genital warts.  It can be treated but not cured.  Genital warts are symptoms of the virus.  When you treat the warts they go away but the virus remains.

But that doesn’t mean that you can’t live a symptom-free life, so all is not lost.

Prevention is Key

Genital warts are not curable but they can be prevented.  HPV is a sexually transmitted disease.  The virus is spread through direct skin contact.

There’s only one thing worse than a bad hair day, and that’s waking up to puffy eyes.  I can’t think of anyone who’d be thrilled to find bags or dark circles under their eyes.

Puffy eyes make you look older than you really are.  Most women (and also men) are ready to try any product that they think can provide relief against eye bags.  Let me show you what I learned about treatment for puffy eyes and how to prevent lines under eyes and puffiness.

Causes of Under Eye Puffiness

First things first; what causes under eye puffiness?  We have to understand what causes puffy eyes to be able to prevent them in the future.  Many of the causes of eye bags are not directly related to the eyes.

This makes it difficult to connect them with swelling under the eyes.  Check out this list of things that can cause puffy eyes:

  • Dehydration.  Surprised?  Loss of water in the body is a major cause of under eye puffiness.
  • Allergies.  An allergic reaction to certain products and foodstuff can cause puffy eyes.
  • Aging.  Need I say more?
  • Heredity.
  • Lack of sleep.
  • Excessive crying.
  • Consuming too much alcohol or salt.

Finding a good sunscreen for oily skin can be a hassle, because most sunscreens contain things that will make your skin oilier or react adversely. If you have oily or combination skin then it’s extra important that you are careful of using the wrong skin care products.

First of all, you may not need to use a sunscreen if you’re only going to be outside an hour or two. As long as your skin is well moisturized you rarely need to apply anything, unless you go sun bathing for hours on end of course.

What to Avoid

In most sunscreens you find at the pharmacy or regular store you’ll see ingredients like mineral oil, alcohol, and synthetic chemicals. Those things are not particularly great for oily skin.

Mineral oil (also called paraffin wax, liquid paraffin, and petrolatum) is oily skin’s worst enemy. It clogs your pores and makes it harder to get rid of toxins, which in turn encourages acne. And it is just one of the many causes of oily skin.

Synthetic chemicals like padimate-o, parabens, dioxanes, and ureas are common in sunscreens as in most skin care products on the market. Sure, they are cheap and give the product longer shelf life. But studies show that many of them may increase the risk of cancer and cause skin irritation.

Do you still remember when you discovered your first wrinkle?  Okay, I know it’s painfully etched in your memory but it’s an experience that we all have to deal with eventually.

Lucky you if your skin is still wrinkle-free.  You’re doing the right thing if you want to know how to prevent wrinkles as early as now.  That’s because it’s easier to prevent wrinkles than to get rid of them.

Preventing Wrinkles the Natural Way

Wrinkles are usually associated with the aging process.  If you are like 99.99% of the population (okay, make that 100%), you don’t want to look old.

Let’s face it, we all want baby smooth skin and we are willing to do what it takes to keep our skin wrinkle-free.  The following tips can help keep your skin fresh and radiant the natural way.

1. Drink from the Fountain of Youth  – Literally! Water helps keep your skin clear and smooth.  Surprised?  Don’t be.  Water flushes out toxins from your system and keeps your skin moist.  This helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles.  Drink as much water you need to quench your thirst, and then drink a little more.  It’s good for your skin and your entire body.  Water is very affordable, and the very best water is found in natural springs.  So drink up and keep you skin looking radiant and fresh.

There are many oily skin herbs that help make the skin drier.  Many women (and men too) are looking for the right natural ingredients that will help the epidermis.  Today I am going to reveal some lesser known skin care tips; herbs that are great for the skin!

1. Red Clover

Red clover includes phytoestrogens that closely resemble human estrogen.  It can help increase estrogen or restore your hormonal balance. When your estrogen levels are getting normalized it can slow down the natural production of oil on your skin.  While you may apply a cream to your skin with red clover, it would probably be more effective to drink a red clover infusion. This is one of my favorite herbs, and I drink yummy red clover infusions regularly!

2. Echinacea

This is another herb that really can improve the quality of your skin.  Echinacea is great because it reduces acne issues by fighting against bacteria and viruses that infect the skin.  Acne also occurs as a result of oily skin, so you can tell your epidermis is feeling much better when the acne disappears!

3. Licorice Root

Oily skin herbs like licorice root can make your skin look fantastic, as it helps against all kinds of skin disorders. It acts as an anti-inflammatory agent when it is applied on the skin and also has benefits when taken internally.

Have you seen an increased amount of age spots on your skin lately? Wondering how to fade age spots and prevent new ones from appearing? I know I’ve seen at least one pop up since last summer. Since this is a natural skin care blog, we’ll look at a few natural ways to effectively fade age spots :)

So what are those brown spots popping up out of nowhere on your complexion? They are concentrations of melanin, the brown pigment in your skin. They can appear after the summer or even just as you get older, as these are times when the melanin in your skin increases.

Tip #1: Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is well known to help heal and hydrate the skin. But is it effective for things like dark age spots? No scientific proof exists, but a lot of people claim having success with this home remedy. Just apply pure aloe gel on the spots once or twice daily and in a few months you should see the results.

Tip #2: Vitamin E

An excellent tip for how to fade age spots is with natural vitamin E. Things like cold pressed almond, castor, jojoba and avocado oil are rich in vitamin E. Natural vitamin E is proven to reverse signs of aging and prevent the appearance of age spots.

How to Get Smooth Skin Like a BabyYou probably know the standard advice for how to get smooth skin; drink lots of pure water, eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly etc.

Those are the absolutely most important things for how to get smooth skin. But there are always extra things you can do to boost your skin’s smoothness!

You can try the below smooth skin tips and if you like them, implement them in your weekly self care routine.

1. Skin Brushing

Dry brushing helps to reveal a smoother layer of skin, tighten the skin, and reduce cellulites. It also strengthens the immune system, stimulates the hormonal glands, and helps in cleaning the lymphatic system. It is done with a soft natural fiber brush before showering/bathing when your skin is dry. I have yet to try it, but I’ve heard loads of good things about it.

Anti Aging Skin Care Tips - A Jar of Skin Cream

Still looking for that fountain of youth? Here are a few of my anti aging skin care tips that I’ve been interested in lately.

For me, anti aging skin care is all about eating foods that make you feel great, keeping the skin moisturized, and generally feeling great.

You may wonder; what does happiness have to do with skin care? Quite simply, the body and the mind are closely linked, one affecting the other all the time.

So if you’re stressed, worried, or unhappy your skin may be affected and get blemishes as well as premature signs of aging.

Here are some of the anti aging skin care tips I’ve been thinking about and researching lately:

1. A Good Hormonal Balance

Hormone imbalances can cause premature skin aging amongst other things. Eating enough healthy fats is important to keep a good hormone balance. Herbal infusions can also be used to restore hormonal balance.

Over the Counter Wrinkle Creams - Are They a Good Choice?

I think most people trust that the products at the pharmacy are all safe and at least somewhat effective.

And that may be true regarding their other products, but when it comes to over the counter wrinkle creams I’ve seen that more often than not they are neither safe nor effective.

If you really want to know whether an over the counter wrinkle cream is any good, all you need to do is take a look at the sometimes-not-so-easy-to-find list of ingredients.

Here’s what you should know about over the counter wrinkle creams:

1. Safe Ingredients?

Many unsafe ingredients are allowed in skin care products, don’t ask me why. Most of them are synthetic so they are cheaper than their natural counterparts.

Carcinogenic substances such as acrylamide (found in many face creams), MEA, TEA, DEA, dioxanes, and fragrances are often in there. The widely used preservatives, parabens, are also suspected to be carcinogenic.

Broccoli is Great for Your SkinIt looks like a tree, but smells like something completely different. There was a time when I didn’t enjoy eating broccoli, but all that has changed now.

I don’t know if it was because I realized its power to my health or something else, but it’s all good. I now have deep respect for this super food.

What is Broccoli?

Broccoli is a member of the cabbage family, and it shares its cruciferous nature with its close relative, the cauliflower.

At first, broccoli appears to be like any other veggie, until you look under the hood, and discover what’s really going on.

Broccoli contains vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, C, E, K, alongside with potassium, folate, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, calcium, some zinc, and some omega-3 fatty acids.

That’s like taking a multivitamin supplement, isn’t it?
